Photography

My interest in photography has ebbed and flowed over the years. I've taken long breaks, sometimes years at a time, but I always come back. I'm drawn to it for the same reason I was first drawn to design: the challenge of conjuring a compelling visual experience from nothing.

I think every good designer, regardless of the business constraints, is chasing beauty on some level. Photography has been a way for me to pursue that outside of work. No user requirements, no deadlines, just the image. After all this time, I'd like to think it's sharpened how I see. Color, light, composition, depth — the eye I bring to product work didn't develop in a vacuum.
